Third Eye Gathering Dead End Amelia

Dead End Amelia. Alternative hard rock/trip hop from Los Angeles

4:44 am in Bands/Musicians, Bio, Music by Phil Brown

DEAD END AMELIA have a great sound that is highly polished, and highlights the vocals of Krista Lee. Dean Dicoso’s history with 3EG goes a long way back, but this definitely sounds like they’ve found that sound they’ve been chasing. This is great music that should go a long way. Enjoy.

Genres: Alternative/Hard Rock/Trip Hop

Dead End Amelia is an alternative hard rock band some may describe as "Art-Rock," probably because the band’s song catalogue integrates the hard rock, metallic tracks from their debut EP "There’s a Bright Side to All of This," with skillful ventures into trip-hop and alternative-indie.

There is something for everyone in this unique ensemble. It takes many special turns of events to bring together four very disparate people in the way that brought Dead End Amelia to life. Dean Dichoso, producer/songwriter/session musician, met singer/songwriter Krista Lee in a typical producer/client environment. After spending countless hours listening to music and forging a very deep friendship, they started writing songs together, aside from their ‘official’ positions in the studio, as therapy and appreciation of fears, loves, lives and surroundings. Influences from the two range richly from years of listening to the likes of pensive songwriters such as Jeff Buckley and Brandi Carlisle to the 90′s grunge hits of Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and The Smashing Pumpkins to modern progressive rock bands King Crimson and A Perfect Circle.

DEA finally came to fruition with bassist Los Salcedo (formerly of Ghost in the Machine) of Chicago coming from a thrash/funk background, who met Dean as they performed as hired guns in several acts together with an undeniable stage chemistry. Finally, an old friend of Dean’s, Will Dorsey Jr. (Bodycount, Laughing Colors, Blaxmyth), joined on drums, giving the rhythm section a tasteful mix of hard hitting rock drumming sprinkled with massive pocket and groove. Stay tuned, as many new shows in several cities will be popping up soon promoting the debut EP. Private gatherings will be held to celebrate and meet and greet all of our wonderful new friends. So please JOIN THE MAILING LIST. DEA has made it’s debut release of First EP, entitled "There’s a Bright Side to All of This" in May of 2010.

DEA is now waiting for the debut EP, "There’s a Bright Side to All of This," to be mastered for a late-May release.
